Core Cities Wireless Broadband

EMNET provides high power flexible WI-FI service for national journalists and politicians at the Core Cities Summit

Top Journalists and delegates were able to cover the Core Cities event and still keep in touch with the world electronically using EMNET broadband wireless infrastructure as well as being able to keep abreast of current events through live news streams.

The flexibility of the EMNET wireless broadband came into its own at the Cities Summit venue because of its easy deployment and flexibility. The Nottingham Playhouse is a listed building and the provision of broadband was made easy by the high power wireless service which is provided by EMNET across the City of Nottingham.

EMNET was praised by all that made use of the facility and over the two day conference the service was described as “excellent and easy to use” by  Summit Chair Jon Snow (Channel 4) who was a regular visitor checking emails and accessing the web, Ben Walker, News Editor of publication Regeneration & Renewal also submitted exclusives over the EMNET network.

In addition to the high-speed broadband EMNET also provided a web based conference support software which included online management of presentations from Key Speakers, Workshops and Plenary Sessions over the two day summit.

These services are currently available for conferences, events and festivals on a nationwide basis. Events that are taking place in Nottingham may be eligible for additional funding to support similar activities.
